In SAS^® 9.2, when the following encoding values are specified, SAS Foundation TRANTAB will be not used for TKNLS transcoding (SAS Foundation DBCSTAB will not work)

• Japanese: U_IBM942_CE, U_MS932_CE, U_MACOS1_CE
• Korean: U_MS949_CE, U_MACOS3_CE
• Chinese: U_MS936_CE, U_MACIS25_CE, U_DEC_CN_CE
• Taiwanese:U_BIG5_CE, U_MACOS2_CE, U_DEC_TW_CE

The issue might occur if the specified ENCODING= option value does not match DBCSTYPE compatibles.

A fix is planned for a future software release.

SAS® Foundation DBCSTAB should work on both WZSS and TKNLS transcodings. However, in SAS® 9.2, if you specify the ENCODING= options with the values in a DBCS SAS session (for example, of SJIS or PCMS DBCSTYPE), DBCSTAB would not work on TKNLS.
